Ashok Amritraj, is not only a successful Hollywood producer but has also made his presence felt in the Tamil film industry with 'Jeans'. He is currently interested in remaking the Hindi film 'Race' with Ajith Kumar in the lead.

The Hindi original had two brothers played by Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Khanna double-crossing each other which eventually leads to their downfall. Ajith was so impressed with the storyline that he immediately gave the approval to cast him. Not only that, he also evinced interest to perform both the roles.

It can be recalled that Ajith played the roles of brothers in 'Valee' which went on to be the start of the dynamic career that he is having. The other film that he did dual roles (again brothers) was in 'Villain' directed by K. S. Ravikumar. Ajith bagged awards for both 'Valee' directed by S. J. Suryah and 'Villain'.

Is the Tamil remake of 'Race', which is about racing (another passion of Ajith), going to get him similar kind of accolades? Let's wait and see.

The film will commence once Ajith's 'Aegan' is released.

'Ajith is a noble-hearted man' - Jayaram

"Ajith is a man of integrity and principle. He is a thorough professional and a truthful person", says actor Jayaram.

The noted Malayalam actor is sharing the screen with Ajith in ‘Aegan’ and was completely bowled over by Ajith's amiable nature on the sets of ‘Aegan’, which is directed by Raju Sundaram.

"Ajith speaks less on the sets, but is very friendly. People may speak badly about him at his back. Only when they interact with him, they would understand that he is a matured human being", Jayaram said.

"He speaks from his heart and never hides any facts. A man of integrity, he is an actor youngsters can emulate", adds Jayaram.

‘Aegan’, produced by Ayngaran Internationals, features Nayantara opposite Ajith. Major portions of the movie have been completed and the movie would hit the screens this September.

Ajith goes to college

Ajith is busy shooting for 'Aegan', directed by Raju Sundaram. The film is produced by Ayngaran International and features Nayantara opposite him.

Following the successes of 'Varalaru' and 'Billa', Ajith is confident that 'Aegan' would also do well at the box office. Noted Malayalam actor Jayaram plays a prominent role in the film.

Jayaram plays the principal in the college that Ajith studies in. Interestingly Nayantara plays the role of a college lecturer.

Jayaram says 'Aegan' will have some rib tickling comedy.

'The comedy portion has come out great. Sathyan is the other actor who will have you in splits', he adds.

'Aegan' will hit screens this September.

Ajith might be Akbar?

Ajith might be Akbar?Ajith’s Billa is now almost ready and if everything goes on well as expected then the movie might make it just in time for Diwali.

With this being so, projects seem to be knocking at Ajith’s doors. If sources are to be believed, then the actor’s next project could very well be for London Karunas’ Ayngaran Films.

Earlier, rumours were afloat in the Kollywood circles that Prabhu Deva would direct the movie. Well, now the focus has shifted to his elder brother Raju Sundaram. Gossip mills have it that when Raju approached Ajith with a story he seemed to have liked it and has given a go ahead signal. And the latest heart-throb, Shriya, could be Ajith’s arm candy in this film.

The movie is tentatively titled as Akbar, according to our sources and all details are expected to be announced formally in a few days. If everything falls in place, then Akbar may start rolling from December.

What is Aegan?

Meaning ‘the one and only’, Aegan has been finalized as the title of Ajith’s next movie, for which shooting is already underway! Informed sources say that the title, Aegan, is a word used in praise of Lord Shiva and means ‘unique’. For Ajith, who is indeed a one-of-kind star, this title fits like a crown! Aegan is directed by dance master-turned-director Raju Sundaram and produced by Ayangaran International, which co-produced the victorious Billa. Released in December, Billa continues to rock the cine scene, unperturbed by the host of films that have hit the screen since. Given the immense success of Billa, there’s quite a lot of pressure on Raju to deliver. He is thoroughly confident in his story which is similar to the story of Shah Rukh’s Main Hoon Na. And he has great faith in Thalai’s acting prowess. As for the lead lady… If rumours are to be believed, then Katrina will fill that part. Let’s hope that Aegan will let help the Ultimate Star ascend higher in cine space!
